[Angel History]
The Birmingham Angel Network, LLC ("BAN") was formed by a small group of friends in late 2007 and began club operations in 2008.
Initially, the idea was to simply have a central location that group members could recieve funding requests and review them together. It didn't take long however for the group members to realize that the size of the opportunity and undertaking were much larger.
Over time the scope of the groups activities has grown to encompass a lot more than just funding. In addition to the core investment activities, BAN now has programs related to mentorship, co-founder introduction, job placement, and community education.
These increased activities have allowed BAN to become one of the most dynamic angel organizations in the Southeast with lofty goals for the future to match.
